Love Parade (German: Loveparade, in English: Love Parade) is a popular festival and parade, mostly electronic music, which originated in Berlin in 1989 and which now has spread to different parts of the world. Love Parade was in Acapulco, Vienna, Cape Town, Mexico City, San Francisco, Santiago and Tel Aviv. Only parades in Acapulco, San Francisco, Santiago and Tel Aviv are still running.
Love Parade will take place again in Berlin in 2006, after two year break due to lack of funds. The parade will be held on July 15, 2006, one week after the closing of the World Cup in Germany as a sports chain McFit providing one million euros of the event.
Alternative Parade in Berlin Techno Demonstration Fuckparade, which is held every year since 1997 in July or August.
Love Parade is held twice in San Francisco in September of 2004 and 2005 respectively, attracting 37 000 and 50-60 000. Love Parade will be held in San Francisco in 2006 to 23 September, Saturday.
The first parade in Santiago took place in 2005 and collected about 100 000 people in 2006 to gather 200,000.
The biggest event of this type is Street Parade (Street Parade) in Zurich, which annually attracts around one million participants.
German organizers of the Love Parade in Berlin, who hold the rights to the name of the parade decided not to renew the license for the name of the parade in the world, but to keep it only for Berlin. Therefore parade in San Francisco, which will be held on September 23, 2006 will be called Love Festival - San Francisco. Organizers of the event in San Francisco decided to continue organizing events for the two previous successful events and marketing momentum generated by the event.
